No Room in the Inn

Zacharias and Elizabeth's child was born. Zacharias and Elisabeth did as the Lord had said and named their child John. After naming the child, Zacharias's tongue was loosed and he began to speak and praise God. Then Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost and prophesied.

Along the same time that Mary was expecting there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. This taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria. Everyone went to his own city to be taxed.

Joseph went to the city of David, which was called Bethlehem. He went to Bethlehem because he was of the family and descent of David.  He went to be taxed with Mary as his promised wife.

While they were in Bethlehem Mary's days were accomplished that she should give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes. She laid him in a manger because there was no room in the inn. Luke 2:1-7

Micah 5:2. But thou Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler of Israel; whose goings forth have been from old, from everlasting.
