God is Perfect,You Don't Need to Be

I don't put any stock in mankind (we're all flawed) but I know God does amazing things through us and he used many prophets in the Old Testament and New Testament times to bring the good news of Jesus Christ and to warn mankind about ultimate destruction. Almost all of the prophecies written in the Holy Bible have come true. And I can see a culmination of present events fulfilling those few prophecies that haven't been fulfilled yet. There is one prophecy in particular that I'm looking forward to and that's the return of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to gather believers and take us home.

Jesus Christ from Nazareth is the only man that I know was perfect. He brought perfect love and salvation to us all. Jehovah and my faith in him as my heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit are who have brought me through the worst of times. And I know who healed my body numerous times and allowed me to function in their strength while I healed. There is no one like my God.

Even though I believed in and loved God since before I can remember and I tried so hard to always live right and honor God I still sinned and made so many mistakes. Praise God for his mercy and his grace and his unconditional love. Once you realize how perfect his love for you is, there is no living without him. I praise God for teaching me resilience and giving me the tools he's given me to overcome whatever I face in life.

Two things I've faced and miraculously overcome are addiction to nicotine and alcohol. September 11, 2001 I stopped smoking cold turkey without any side effects and after years of trying several things to quit. Somehow the attack on the world trade center shook me into finally getting my mind and heart in alignment and deciding I didn't want to smoke instead of having the attitude 'I want to quit but I love smoking'. A year later on September 11, 2002 I stopped drinking cold turkey after a few years of drinking daily. My addiction to alcohol got so bad that if there was alcohol in the house I had to drink it before I went to bed. It didn't matter if it was beer, liquor, wine or moonshine I drank it all. I believe the stronghold at that time was stronger with alcohol because of the horrific, constant pain and lack of sleep due to pain that I dealt with on a daily basis. But, praise God, after I stopped drinking I functioned in his strength and survived and healed from the condition of my cervical spine and nerves and fibromyalgia among other things. God has healed me from so much mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

There is nothing God can't do including forgive us of all the sins and mistakes we've made. We can't work our way into heaven. We only need to accept God's love, believe in his gift of salvation, our Lord Jesus Christ, and work out our own salvation by allowing him to change us, change our ways to his ways, transition us little by little into someone who looks and acts more like Jesus. Jesus was perfect, we don't have to be. We just need to let him in our heart and he will do the rest.

If you're not saved I hope by reading this you realize that God is perfect and we don't need to be. We don't have to work at or change to be lovable. We are already loveable and are loved by God who created us to have a relationship with him. If you'd like to pray together message me and I'd be happy to do that with you. If not, I hope you'll get a Holy Bible and read it while asking and believing God for wisdom and understanding and talk to God daily.
